In a way, imparting education is rendering social service. At Vidyalankar all efforts towards the teaching-learning process focus not just on individual development but also lead to a more informed society and contribute to nation-building.
Vidyalankar School of Information Technology believes in sensitizing students and faculty towards shouldering actual social responsibilities along with their regular academic pursuits. Many students are actively involved in social service as VVC (Vidyalankar Volunteering Committee).

Blood Donation & Thalassemia Awarenes
The NSS volunteers of different colleges gather in Vidyathi bhavan and registered themselves. After that the students were taken to the hall were the doctors, program officers were present. The doctors gave the students information about the thalassemia disease and the reason why blood donation should be done. After the donation how blood gets separated and it helps the thalassemia patients. It was great experience to get the information about the thalassemia disease and the volunteers would spread awareness to donate blood.
Hepatitis-B Awareness(Rally)
The United Way organization has arranged an awareness campaign (rally) regarding Hepatitis-B disease. The volunteers proceeded to the nearby area i.e. Ganesh Nagar, were they chanted the slogans even they were carrying Planck cards. The street play was arranged by the K.E.S collage which they performed in different areas. The activity ended and the volunteers were distributed with refreshments.In the same it was arrange in Chembur at Vashi naka an awareness campaign (rally) regarding Hepatitis-B disease. The volunteers were provided with banners, Planck cards, pamphlets & aprons. The volunteers started the rally by shouting slogans and distributing pamphlets. The volunteers went door-to-door to inform the people about Hepatitis-B, the volunteers talked to the people solved their doubts and also attend the question of the public. .
Vysan Mukti Rally
The Vysan Mukti Rally was organized in associate with the University of Mumbai.The Rally started from Azad Maidan,all students were assembled with their slogans and banners.The Rally continued till Gateway Of India.People on streets showed great response as they waited to read the posters made by the students.After reaching Gateway of India,the students were told to settle down for short program.At the end pledge was said by the students and other people present there promising they will be a part of Vysan Mukti Bharat.
Senior Citizen Registration
The NSS volunteers of Vidyalankar school of information technology were divide into group of six members as per their college schedule. The Six member would register themselves at Wadala T.T . Police station and in pair they would be divided to 3 different area with the police inspector guiding them. The work was to register the senior citizen by going door to door as per the list provided them. They have to convince the senior citizen, explain them about the drive which will help the Mumbai police to protect them. The drive was conducted by Mumbai police and dignity foundation It was a great experience and feels very happy to see that for the safety of senior citizen polices are taking initiatives.
